the best zoo that you will ever see in your life. The London Zoo is among the
best zoos' in the world. In fact this zoo is the oldest scientific zoo of the
world.
The London Zoo was started with the intention of keeping the animals there for
scientific study. Different species of animals from far and wide all across the
world were brought in and slowly the collection grew tremendously big. It was
eventually opened to the public who took perhaps the most breathtaking trip of
their lives. The zoo today has over 755 species of animals and is a home to
over 15,000 animals. This makes the zoo have the largest collection of animals
in all of the UK. The zoo is easy to locate as it is located towards the north
of Regent Park.
If you are taking a solo trip in London without any guide and this is your
first trip to London then all you need to do is to locate regent’s park. You
can be easily directed from the park to the zoo. The zoo is maintained by the
zoological society of London that was established in the year of 1826. The zoo
has gone many modifications over the years with the re allocation of larger
animals like elephants and the animals that require special care.
The London Zoo receives no funding from the state. Instead it relies on the
donations from the fellows or members of the zoo. Also the entrance fees and
the sponsorships make for the money that is needed to run the zoo. The zoo
hosts well over millions of tourists per year as people from all over the world
come to see the zoo. The zoo is well connected with central London through
underground tube network. If you are taking the tube to the zoo then you can
get down at either Chalk Farm station or at the Camden town station. Also the
zoo is well severed by the bus routes and taking a bus to the zoo will be of no
problem although taking the underground tube is highly recommended as not only
is it faster but more easily accessible.
The zoo is undergoing major renovation plans today that will change the
lifestyle of the animals. The cages are being replaced by enclosure that is
like the natural habitat of the animals where the animals can live in an
atmosphere that is comfortable to them. Also many new species and research
projects are being undertaken at the zoo.
